ALAMOS

Debut Album, Live Dates

“Scotland has much to commend it, not least this brilliant trio who cut their edgy punk funk with huge, throbbing bass lines and a Fugazi-like savagery.” – Time Out (July, 2005)

“Scots rockers brandishing angry, cocksure tunes with one eye on Franz Ferdinand, the other on McLusky…” – The Fly (March 2005)

Scottish youngsters ALAMOS have already cemented their reputation with the singles Kill Baby Kill and Photograph It, receiving plaudits from many publications, plenty of plays on Radio 1 – including the last ever John Peel show, support from Steve Lamacq and recording a session for The Evening Session - and had their last video playlisted on MTV2!
Since their first ever gigs – supporting Franz Ferdinand and Stellarstarr* - they’ve shared the stage with the likes of The Subways, Aereogramme, Sons and Daughters, Hell Is For Heroes, Biffy Clyro and iForward Russia!.
Their self-titled debut album is a potent mix of pummeling drum-beats, downright dirty, disco-influenced bass and McLusky-esque guitar hooks – a lethal combination that might leave the listener in mind of how Franz Ferdinand might have sounded like if Alex Kapranos had smoked crack and listened to a little more punk…
The album was recorded with Geoff Allan (Mogwai / Sons and Daughters), and the band have just signed a deal with the Vinyl Junkie label in Japan. A download-only single, POLEMICS, will be made available on April 24th.
