Atomic Kitten's cover of John Holt's composition of 'The Tide Is High', is still riding high in the Top 20, (having hit number one a few weeks ago), and now
Reggae legend John Holt himself has been confirmed to star in two very special concerts on Saturday 16th November @ Aston Villa Leisure Centre, Birmingham, and Sunday 17th November @ Wembley Arena, London.

UB40's Ali Campbell will be special guest at Wembley, invited by John Holt and Ken Boothe, (his chart hits include 'Crying Over You' and 'Everything I Own', covered by Boy George in 1987), who both feature on UB40's recently released 'The Fathers Of Reggae' remix compilation. Marcia Griffiths, whose version of 'To Be Young, Gifted and Black' was a huge UK hit in 1970,was one of Bob Marley's I-Threes backing vocalists in the Wailers, while Mikey Spice is a talented multi-instrumentalist with a reputation as Jamaica's answer to Barry White.

Last year, the event took place at the Hammersmith Apollo in London and featured a 20 piece orchestra. This year, Clement Ishmael, (currently conducting 'The Lion King') will conduct a 36 piece orchestra, alongside a reggae band featuring members of Jazz Jamaica.

Wembley will be compared by David Rodigan (Kiss FM) and Geofff Schumann (Choice FM) and DJ's on the night are Miss P from BBC London and Lady G from Choice FM. Birmingham will be compered by Trevor Ranks and DJ's on the night are Juggla, Father Hovis, Daddy Crucial and Female Connection.

In the year of Jamaica's 40th anniversary of independence, celebrated by BBC2's highly acclaimed series in the Spring, the Symphonic Reggae Concert will be the first Reggae show to be held at Wembley since the 1987 Sunsplash Festival.
