| BABY LEMONADE Baby Lemonade, the neo-psychedelic power-pop quartet from Los Angeles who performed with Arthur Lee in his final incarnation of Love, have confirmed a seventeen date UK tour, commencing on October 16th. Baby Lemonade were formed in 1994, and after the release of their debut six-song ‘Wonderful’ EP on the Sympathy For The Record Industry Label, Arthur Lee liked them so much he asked them to tour with him as the latest version of his legendary band, Love. Then in 1996 Arthur was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment on firearms charges, so Baby Lemonade turned to their own music and recorded their debut full length album, ‘68% Pure Imagination’, released at the end of 1996, (also on the Sympathy label). A year later their second album, ‘Exploring Music’, came out on the Big Deal label, and their third album, ‘High Life Suite’ was released in 2001. Following Arthur Lee’s much publicised release from prison in 2001, Baby Lemonade were once again invited to perform as Love. In the following three years the band went on to enjoy unprecedented success with sell-out tours of the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Baby Lemonade, (as Love), not only made the original Arthur Lee fans happy, but far exceeded their expectations. Additionally, the new ‘Love with Arthur Lee’ amassed a brand new fan base of those not even born when Arthur first performed in the Sixties, including Oasis, Primal Scream, The Happy Mondays, Ian Brown, Yo La Tengo, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Apollo Heights, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, the Dears and The White Stripes, whose Meg even joined them on stage at a gig in America. Huge critical acclaim accompanied their re-creation of the classic Love album ‘Forever Changes’, which was filmed by the BBC at Glastonbury Festival and ‘Later With Jools Holland’ in 2003. Baby Lemonade escorted Arthur Lee when he was awarded a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award by Mojo and a ‘Living Legend’ award from NME the following year. Sadly, Arthur Lee passed away in 2006 from leukemia, mourned by fans the world over. Now his widow Diane, who is in charge of his estate, has welcomed Baby Lemonade’s decision to continue the tradition of Love’s music and officially endorsed Baby Lemonade’s UK tour, billed as ‘A Celebration Of The Music Of Arthur Lee and Love’. Baby Lemonade, who comprise singer / guitarist Rusty Squeezebox, guitarist / singer Mike Randle, bassist Dave Chapple and drummer Malcolm Cross are fully aware of their gracious responsibility and no band is more capable and worthy of the task. They will bring their integrated and explosive evening of Love and Baby Lemonade music to the following shows:- October 16th Swansea Pontardawe Arts Centre
