colt debut album, “OK, you need me to get all lazy and list-y, and talk
of Kate Bush and Cocteau Twins and A Black Tape For a Blue Girl and the most
restrained, refined minimal moments of Led Zeppelin and a far more intense
Portishead…but a list in this case is even more lazy than usual and does
nothing more that point you in a vague direction as we go dancing around
architecture.” – Organ (August, 2004)
Andrea Kerr,
Jared Christian Hawkes and Mark Bishop are Colt, a new animal freshly
created from the ashes of Living With Eating
Disorders. Keen to move
beyond the controversy over the name, and the associations with Andrea’s
own inner demons, it was felt that the time was right to adopt a new
name, and escape from performing live for a while to record their musical
statement: the result being the bewitching, surreal sound of their debut
album, These Things Can’t Hurt You Now So Throw Them In The Fire. Colt return
to the live arena with a show at The Water Rats, so come and see how
this musical genius transfers to the stage… COLT’s
debut album, THESE THINGS CAN’T HURT YOU NOW SO THROW THEM IN THE FIRE,
is released on Something To Listen To, distributed by Cargo, on OCTOBER 31st –
that’s Halloween, folks…! Tuesday, October 25th 45?
33!……Nik Moore on 020
