The line-up for the Main Stage sponsored by Commercial Radio will feature headliners Levellers on Friday, Blondie on Saturday, and The Australian Pink Floyd Show on Sunday. Specials Guests are Carbon/Silicon, on Friday, Kula Shaker on Saturday and From The Jam on Sunday. The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dodgy, Cerys Matthews, The Damned and a host of other fantastic acts will also grace the main stage this year. Latest Additions to this stage include rising star singer Wallis Bird, Yorkshire indie rockres Little Man Tate, power-metal rockers, Never The Bride and Germany’s finest home grown rock band, The Boss Hoss! For the first time ever we welcome Italian superstar Zucchero to the main stage at Stoke Park. A legend throughout the continent who has sold over 25 milllion albums (and the only artist ever to have had 3 number 1s in 3 different languages) Zucchero’s list of work colleagues reads like a who’s who of international music stardom with Sting, Bono, Paul Young, Eric Clapton, Luciano Pavarotti and Miles Davis all having made recordings with him. The 'Almighty Rock Choir is back for the 2nd year at GuilFest- offering an awesome and dynamic show with 300 singers on the Main Stage both on the Saturday and Sunday - hundreds more than last year! With up-beat pop, gospel and motown songs, Rock Choir has firmly established itself in the South East as a unique singing sensation allowing anyone at any standard to become part of the choir. Rock Choirs are based in Farnham, Guildford and Godalming and, from September '08, in Chobham, Weybridge and Esher. With a huge fan base and a run of sell-out shows, Rock Choir consists of children, teenagers and adults from Surrey and Hampshire who are trained weekly leading to a variety of shows and events. Ents24 have returned this year to sponsor the second stage – which this year features possibly it’s strongest line-up ever with Freak Power, Bowling for soup, and British Sea Power headlining over the three days, supported by System 7, The Aliens, and Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong. Also playing on the stage will be Royworld, The Egg, Richie Havens, Dreadzone, Seth Lakeman and Simon Friend to name but a few! As special guests on Sunday afternoon, GuilFest is delighted to have Les McKeown’s Legendary Bay City Rollers performing on the Ents24 stage. So dust off your tartan scarves and shang-a-lang with us! The immensely popular RockSound Cave this year features the incredible 65DaysofStatic, Fightstar, and The Blackout leading an absolutely stellar line-up of rock bands including Senser, Devil Sold His Soul and Ghost of a Thousand amongst many others. The Funky End stage features some of the top DJs in the world. Goa Trance being delivered by psychedelic legend Hallucinogen; Breaks covered by Krafty Kuts, with the best in house music performed on 6 decks by X - Press 2. All supported by a fantastic range of DJs – Including Japan’s DJ Kana playing us upfront trance and Far Too Loud giving us their unique flavour of breaks. Elsewhere on the site we have the return of the eFestivals Comedy Tent, featuring Howard Marks, Robin Ince, Wayne Deakin, Danny Buckler and various other comedians from the UK circuit; The Man in the Moon Theatre Tent also returns this year with more performances by loads of different theatre companies than ever before; The Acoustic lounge is back – featuring Open Mic sessions – so come along and bring you instruments – anyone can play! The UnisonZone returns once again, providing a packed programme of activities including a talk from famous politician Tony Benn, guest performances from Dodgy, Sonic Boom Six, Kizmit, Wellalive, and the unsigned heroes live sessions. There will be much more else going on here – Check the tent out for details! Later on, when the main stages begin to close, we have plenty more entertainment planned for all the night-owls out there! Head to the Rock Disco for some classic Rock dancing shenanigans; grab your partner and come on down for a bit of “YeeHaa” and “Dosey-Do” at Farmer Giles Barn Dance; go to the Funky End for some late night blips and beeps; or just wander in to the acoustic lounge for our late night singalongs! As if that wasn’t enough! Our KidZone returns again this year, featuring more fun and games than ever before, with circus performances, face painting, fun rides, a kids procession and all kinds of activities to keep the little ones entertained. The EA games area is also back this year with the latest in video game technology for you to enjoy. We even have our very own David Beckham Soccer Academy – offering free coaching sessions from professional coaches to children between the ages of 5 and 15, quiz activities and even a football free-styler performing skills and tricks around the site. All this combined with The Surrey Advertiser and Andertons Liveclub stages, featuring the best in unsigned talent from the local areas and beyond, one of the most laid back and friendly vibes at any festival, impromptu street performances, food and drink from around the world, great stalls, cocktail bars, The Pimms Bus and our MASSIVE 150’ bar. We even have Guildford Lido for outdoor swimming and showers, and Guildford Spectrum leisure centre for indoor swimming and various other activities right next door!
