THE COMMON REDSTARTS' Save It For Your Friends has been blasting
out of every Sky Sports ad for the last month - and will continue to
do so until the end of June! - and was recently aired in an episode
of EastEnders…not bad going for the young band from Edinburgh,
whose debut single – released last summer - received amazing support
across the board, receiving hefty plays on Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and
Xfm.
The band took to Chemikal Underground’s Chem Nineteen studio in
December and laid down the fifteen tracks which will be the basis of
their debut album, due out later this year, but they’ve still found
time for a series of commando raids on the venues of Glasgow and Edinburgh,
playing gigs that have seen their fanbase increase in size each time.
It’s an exciting time for music in Scotland, and the Redstarts
are at the vanguard of the new movement, their fresh, melody-infused
rock effortlessly spreading across the airwaves and settling in people’s
minds and hearts.
The single SAVE IT FOR YOUR FRIENDS is released by Seeca on JULY
24TH, distributed by Cargo
