***QUEEN OF METAL’S ‘CALLING THE WILD’ & ‘FIGHT’ ALBUMS RE-RELEASED MARCH 29TH ON STEAMHAMMER / SPV***

Sultry Powerhouse Hard Rock vocalist Doro, who is universally known as 'Queen of Metal' in her native Germany, is set to re-release both her 'Calling The Wild' (2000) and 'Fight' (2002) albums as deluxe versions on Steamhammer / SPV on March 29th.

'CallingThe Wild', featuring such guest stars as Slash, Lemmy, Al Pitrelli, Bob Kulick and Eric Singer, will be available as a 2 CD 6 flap digipak, containing 11 bonus tracks, 2 of which are previously unreleased, and new liner notes by Doro Pesch and Nick Douglas. Highlights include a spectacular guitar solo by former Guns'N'Roses axeman Slash on 'Now Or Never', while on 'Dedication' and 'Who You Love', the spotlight focuses on ex - Savatage and Megadeth guitarist Al Pitrelli. Drummer Eric Singer (ex-Kiss, Alice Cooper) and guitarist Bob Kulick were happy to help out in Los Angeles when it came to the recording of her duet with Lemmy, an updated version of the Motörhead classic 'Love Me Forever'; Lemmy also composed 'Alone Again', included as one of the eleven bonus tracks on CD2. Lemmy not only played bass on both numbers but also contributed a brilliant acoustic guitar solo on 'Alone Again'. 'Burn It Up' is the anthem of Düsseldorf's American football team Rhinefires, who won the Worldball cup in Frankfurt in 2000, and features a posse of Rhinefires players on the chorus.

'Fight', the title track of which was adopted as the walk-on anthem for 13 time world champion boxer Regina Halmich, will be released as a 6 flap digipak CD, containing 4 bonus tracks, 2 of which have never been released before, and new liner notes by Doro Pesch and Nick Douglas. 'Fight', a particular highlight of which is 'Descent', featuring a duet with guest vocalist Pete Steele of Type O Negative, will also be released as a double gatefold vinyl album.

Doro Pesch first sprang on to the rock scene in 1982 as singer in Warlock, whose 1987 release 'Triumph and Agony' sold over 500,000 units, after which she embarked on a solo career as Doro. Her debut solo album 'Force Majeure' reached the Top 5 of the album charts in Germany in 1989. On her second, self titled album, which rode high in the German charts for a full twenty weeks in 1990, she collaborated with Kiss boss Gene Simmons. The same year also saw the release of 'True At Heart', which Doro recorded with Barry Becket (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones among others) in Nashville. Doro then composed, arranged and produced 'Angels Never Die' with the American producer and songwriter Jack Ponti (Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper among others), which came out in 1992 and contained two German hit singles 'Bad Blood' and 'Alles ist gut'. In 1994, she received an Echo award in the category of 'most successful German female vocalist, national'. Doro then expanded her stylistic range with her 1995 offering 'Machine II Machine', followed by the equally ambitious and contemporary 'Love Me In Black' in 1998.

Both 'Calling The Wild' and 'Fight', which are set to be re-released on March 29th, boast this versatile, heartfelt vocalist at her absolute best, and are a must-have buy for all lovers of classic, melodic, Hard Rock.

BRADFORD, DUDLEY AND LONDON GIGS IN NOVEMBER TO PROMOTE NEW 'FIGHT' ALBUM ON SPV

"This lady knows how to rock and has been doing so for over twenty years now. She brings to bear all of her stagecraft and experience gained throughout a career in Warlock and then as a solo artist, on this latest opus, 'Fight'. Doro has a powerful and yet soulful voice and this single trademark defines all of her albums…Doro is a great singer who is supported by an amazingly tight band and together they have managed to record a classic album that captures the old school spirit of rock and metal. 9/10." Glenn Butler - Powerplay October 2002.

German rock vocalist Doro, whose new album, 'Fight', was released on SPV on August 19th, has added shows in Bradford and Dudley in addition to her previously announced London Underworld gig in November. Dates are:-

15th November Bradford Rios
16th November Dudley JB's
17th November London Underworld.

'Fight' is a hugely powerful, diverse, flowing hard rock collection of classic rock songs recorded 'virtually live' at the Soundmine Recording Studios in Pennsylvania with her band of extremely talented American musicians, consisting of Joe Taylor on guitar, Nick Douglas on bass, Johnny Dee on drums and Oliver Palotai on guitar and keyboards. "As powerful as possible, as natural as necessary," was the motto of the production team of Doro, Chris Lietz and New Yorker Dan Malsch. 'Fight' was mixed by Malsch and Lietz, while Doro herself mastered the album at the Skyline Studios in Duesseldorf. "Compared to previous recordings, Fight sounds even rawer, earthy, totally rooted to the soil," she says. "Nothing was polished smooth, there are no loops, hardly any effects, but a lot of pure energy and passion."

The album's title track 'Fight' has already been adopted as the anthem for boxing world champion Regina Halmich. "Legends Never Die" was written specifically for Doro by Gene Simmons, and 'Descent' features the distinctive guest vocals of Pete Steele of Type O 'Negative.
